Fall Capsule Wardrobe

Fall is here! There is a crisp chill in the air in the mornings, pumpkin spice lattes are being ordered and my closet is organized and cleaned out in preparation for cooler temps!

I have curated a collection of fifteen articles of clothing that are great for all occasions this fall season. The pieces mix and match and are simple to coordinate. They are great basic items that can be dressed down or up. You have the opportunity to add some other colors, but I chose items that are easy to wear and layer.

Cargo pants are popular this fall and I have been wearing the khaki and olive green ones on repeat the past couple of weeks. They look great cuffed at the bottom with sneakers or flats. Having a variety of sweaters is also helpful during this weather transition time. The rolled neck taupe sweater is great around your shoulders or with any of the pants. I also love the long autumnal colored cozy sweater. It can be worn with any of the blouses for a casual look or to work. A must have for fall is the capped sleeve black sweater. It is great for days that start chilly and end warmer and looks nice under the blazers or sweaters. The striped Emilie lady jacket from J.Crew can be worn year round and is a classic piece to have this fall.

A few new fresh blouses are nice to perk up your closet. Denim in all forms is being seen everywhere, which is why I chose the denim button up with a tie bow. It is perfect under sweaters, looks great with jeans for an all denim look, and also works under a blazer. The two white blouses are a must - one is sleeveless, the other is long sleeved with a bow!

The black dress I chose is the perfect little black dress for your closet and the bow is a lovely detail! This dress looks great with the metallic flats or the block heel slingback shoes. A tweed blazer makes makes it ready for a meeting and adding a strappy heel makes it the perfect dress for an event.

Fall is a great time to select a new outwear piece. The Abercrombie & Fitch jacket with a removable scarf is a great find and one that will take you well into winter. The coat has a lady jacket style and is the perfect weight as the temperatures drop. The removable scarf can be worn with other outfits for a different look. 

I have also chosen five pairs of shoes that work with the various pieces. Metallics, especially silver is being shown everywhere this fall and the silver flats are a great way to incorporate the trend easily into your fall outfits. They work with all shades of pants or denim and can easily dress up a dress or skirt.

I shared the gold ball earrings I purchased this month and I have been wearing them on repeat. They are available in gold and silver and really both metals would be great to own! Finally, I have included a must have reversible belt from Amazon that makes any outfit complete. The horsebit belt looks expensive and works with pants as well as on a dress.

Lastly, I have selected two very useful bags - one is a scalloped brown tote, the other is a smaller black and brown bucket bag. The tote can hold your laptop, ipad or any work essentials. Both bags are terrific for day or night and a fun way to transition from summer into fall. 

Hopefully my capsule wardrobe selections will provide you with some inspiration and help you update your wardrobe with new items. As I was setting the rack of items up, I was happy with how everything goes together and these items are great for anyone needing a reboot on their fall clothes.
